In November 2017 I was an artist-in-residence at the Mission Clay Art + Industry program in Phoenix, Arizona. During my time there, I created three large-scale sculptural columns (4-7 feet tall) using extruded terra-cotta pipes. The pipes were transformed by painting, drawing, starched surface, slicing, extracting, piercing, and joining into decorative dynamic assemblies. The finished work will be exhibited in Orinda, California in June 2019. Documentation of the process and the sculptures is below.
